What materials do you use?
I use only the highest quality professional artist paints and canvases. All of my work is framed in a quality custom frame, ready to hang.
Do you do commissions?
Absolutely. I would love nothing more than to create something bespoke for your space. I start to create after a consultation with you, either in-person or over the phone. I'm happy to visit you in your home (if Melbourne metro) to help understand what you're looking for. All commission work will be charged based on the brief. A 50% deposit is required upfront with balance due on delivery of artwork.
Do you offer discounts if I buy from you direct and not a gallery?
Sorry, but you won't save money buying from me direct. I am grateful and loyal to the galleries and other stockists who I represent and support my work. I have a standard price list for all of my work. I charge by the size and materials used. There's no point hunting around for a "better deal" on my artwork because it's all the same price at each stockist including me. The only exception to this on the odd occasion where I or one of my stockists runs a special promotion.
How long does it take for you to do each painting?
Possibly the most common questions that all artists get! I wish I knew the answer. Each painting is a process and has it's own unique journey. It's impossible for me to block out time and know that a painting will start at X time and be finished by Y time. It simply doesn't work that way. Usually I have 5-10 paintings I'm working on within the same 4-6 week period. They each get a bit of my love at attention until they're ready to go out to their forever homes.
Do you sell prints?
Yes I do. Whilst I'm not a fan of mass reproduction of fine art, I do believe there's a place for it. Limited edition prints are a great way to have a beautiful artwork in your home for a lower price but with a high quality product. I don't do prints of all my original work - just a few. Please email me to find out more: email@example.com
Can you bring a range of paintings to my house so I can see what they look like?
Whilst I understand many people would like to try before they buy, I'm unable to personally provide this service due to time constraints. I do however have a supplier who can offer this service and even bring you other artists work to compare at the same time. Email me if you're interested in this service.
Do you accept refunds or exchanges? I want all of my collectors to be happy which is why I'll happily exchange a painting (if you've bought it directly from me) for another painting of the same or lesser value. I don't however offer refunds, so please choose carefully. Each of my stockists have different business terms, so if buying my work via a third party please check their purchase terms carefully.
How do I best care for my painting? The materials I use are lightfast and of high professional artist quality. Paintings should never be placed in full sun because like all fabrics and colours the sun will deteriorate it over time. To dust your artwork, simply use a soft dry brush and lightly dust the surface, taking care not to rub the paint with any force. Because I paint with acrylics which are water soluble, it's important not to get the painting wet. Please don't bring out the spray and wipe for cleaning purposes!
My painting got damaged in my home... can you fix it? It happens, my family members have damaged a few of my paintings too! Pets, kids, friends, moving things around the place. I get it. For a minimal fee, I'm happy to do "touch ups" to a painting that has minor marks on it. If the canvas is ripped, I'll need to further assess the damage to ascertain if it can be fixed. The bottom line is that careful handling of artwork is important to avoid damage.
